This Year 1 'Let's read, write and use numbers!' scheme of work is a great way to familiarise your class with numbers to twenty. By the end of the week, they will be able to recognise numbers to twenty in numerals and in written form, and represent them in a variety of different ways.

Lesson 1

What's this Number?

The first lesson in this series encourages your class to identify and say a number and then represent it using either words, numerals or pictures. This lesson reinforces children’s recognition of numbers zero to twenty in a variety of forms, including reading and using number sentences. The children will have opportunities to match numbers as well as write numbers in their different forms.

Matching Numbers
