Continents

Introduce your class to the animals of the world and their native continents with this 7 continents lesson plan and accompanying resources.

Use the included lesson slides to travel to each continent and meet one of the native animals you could find there. Then, using a world map and the differentiated printable resources, challenge your class to complete the continents activity where they have to label where different animals are from using what they have learned.

Coasts, Oceans and Seas

This oceans and seas KS1 lesson pack explores the differences between oceans and seas, as well as different coastal environments and the animals which live in them.

The children will name the different oceans of the world and become familiar with coastal vocabulary such as sea, beach, rock pool, and cliff. As they explore these physical features of the coasts they learn about and discuss the animals which live in them. They are challenged to identify the different environments and place the given animals in their preferred coastal habitat.
